- Holistic Psychotherapist -

About Me.  I received my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University in 2015. My bachelor’s degree was received in 2005 from Rowan University in Special Education, specializing in mild/moderate and severe disorders. I also practice as a Breathwork instructor and sound healer. Additionally, I was certified as a personal trainer and competitive kickboxer in New Jersey.

My Approach. What sets me apart from other clinicians is my focus on neuroscience. Healing the brain on a physical level, in addition to creating new neural pathways on conscious one. Thanks to advances in technology we can see the structural changes that many thought disorders have on the brain, resulting in deadening of neural pathways, loss of cognitive functions, and reduced grey matter, exacerbating already existing mental health concerns. This is where subconscious brain healing comes in. By activating both sides of our brain using sound healing vibrational frequencies, binaural beats, breathwork and/or meditation/visualization, we can begin to prime the brain, activating new areas and stimulating neuroplasticity. I utilize these holistic methods in support of the cognitive and behavioral changes that are being made. Essentially our bodies are ecosystems and to neglect supporting the physical brain structure would be like dieting without the exercise.

My Experience. I have over 15-years in the mental health field, working with individuals from all walks of life. I started my career as a special education teacher, providing behavior modification plans and individualized support to my students. While in grad school, I transitioned to working with NJDOC inmates preparing to release from prison by providing evidence based interventions, targeting their criminogenic needs such as anger management, domestic violence, anti-social thinking, sexual addictions, impulse control, etc. For the past 5-years, I’ve been working as an outpatient therapist providing individual and group therapy to adults treating co-occurring disorders such as addictions, behavior problems, conflicts with others, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, bi-polar, impulsivity, trauma, codependency, and LGBTQ+ needs.

My Support. As a holistic therapist, I take a humanistic perspective, providing strengths-based and evidenced-based interventions for my clients to utilize, such as MI, CBT, REBT, ACT, DBT, and schema therapy. In my career, I have witnessed hundreds of clients overcome their own personal adversities to leading self-fulfilling lives, each with their own unique algorithm to change. There is no “one size fits all” approach to personal recovery, which is why it’s important for me as a therapist to be well rounded, providing vast alternatives and techniques for my clients to utilize, ranging from psychotherapeudic approaches to holistic ones. I believe strongly in the mind, body, spirit connection and the personal power that can be cultivated when all 3 are in alignment. Nothing is more rewarding to me than bearing witness to a client’s personal transformation. It would be my honor to guide you on this journey to self-actualization and show you what Mindbodyology is about!
